Legislative Director for Solano County Supervisor Wanda Williams 

Dr. Latressa Wilson Alford is a multifaceted professional with a distinguished career spanning journalism, political advocacy, and entrepreneurship. With over three decades of political and legislative experience, Dr. Wilson Alford has served as Senior Political Advisor to Mayor-elect Barbara Lee when she represented the 12th Congressional District. Previously, Latressa was Senior Aide to Congressman George Miller, retired.

She continues to support political candidates and currently works as Legislative Director for Solano County Supervisor Wanda Williams. A proud lifetime member of Black Women Organized for Political Action (BWOPA), Latressa is the President of the Solano/Napa Chapter. She is a member of the CADEM Black Caucus and is running for caucus Treasurer.

Latressa is a Board Member of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Freedom Center in Oakland which works to advance youth and family civic engagement, ethical leadership, and economic and educational equity. A former journalist, Latressa managed eight metro newspapers for the legendary Sun Reporter Publications Company under the leadership of Dr. Carlton B. Goodlett and Amelia Ashley-Ward. As a lifelong entrepreneur, she founded LWA, an entertainment firm, and she has produced concerts such as the San Jose Fountain Blues Festival featuring legendary artists like the late John Lee Hooker.

Her numerous accolades include induction into the Bay Area Blues Society Hall of Fame (2013), California Assembly Woman of the Year and Who's Who in America (2021), the CA Black Women Trailblazer Hall of Fame Legacy Award (2024), and a Community Democratic Club Black Gavel Award in 2025. Dr. Wilson Alford is the proud mother of three daughters: Nikole Alyssa, and Justice.
