Dr. Glenda Newell-Harris is an internal medicine physician and a nationally recognized leader in healthcare, currently serving as Regional Medical Director at YesCare Corporation. With over three decades of experience in both clinical practice and healthcare administration, in the private and public sector she has dedicated her career to improving patient outcomes through education, empowerment, and systemic change.
Dr. Newell-Harris is a sought-after speaker and author, best known for co-authoring Focus on Your Best Health, a guide designed to help patients navigate the complexities of the healthcare system and advocate effectively for themselves and their families. Her emphasis on health literacy and patient advocacy has made her a trusted voice across generations, from Gen Z to Baby Boomers.
From 2014 to 2018, she served as the 16th National President of The Links, Incorporated and The Links Foundation, Incorporated, becoming the first physician to lead one of the nation’s oldest and largest volunteer organizations.
Dr. Newell-Harris also serves on the advisory board of UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland and is a former Vice Chair of the Health Commission for the City of Oakland. She is a past president of the Sinkler-Miller Medical Association and a long-standing resident of Oakland, living in the Sequoyah neighborhood.
